Colors dim as light yields to quiet gray.
Thoughts and dreams and love all blurred,
darkened by the haunting shadows
of something gone.

Where did all the color go?
Bright and bold and big.
Now dull and dry.

Nothing from this world will lift my lightless heart.
Yet from within, a fragile flame awakens to a spark of color.
So with intention, I pick up a brush and paint within my reach.
